There aren’t too many folks walking around with pipes like Wilis Earl Beal’s. In the latest episode of Nigel Godrich’s From the Basement, the Chicago singer/songwriter heads downstairs for a pretty incredible performance.

Beal gave passionate renditions of “Blue Escape” and “Wavering Lines” and made sure to throw in a little melodrama in between, assuring the TV audience that, “most of my life has been imaginary anyway.” Check that out via the link below and grab Beal’s debut LP, Acousmatic Sorcery, on Hot Charity/XL now.
