In a recent interview, CyHi The Prynce said, “This is my second year—this is my sophomore season. Everybody don’t just come in and ball out. The Lakers or the Miami Heat drafted me where there’s already LeBron and D. Wade on the team.”

The basketball analogy fits in the context of his position in the talented G.O.O.D. Music roster. But while many critics have presumed the Atlanta rapper is in the shadows of Big Sean and Common, he’s actually making his presence felt with every new release. Looking back on his set of potent verses on Cruel Summer, CyHi is the sixth man ready to become a starter.

CyHi speaks on where he’s at now in his latest freestyle, “James Harden.” Over a soulful loop of drums and strings, the 28-year-old spits a long list of his accomplishments on G.O.O.D. and his road to success. CyHi, who relates himself to Harden’s tenacity on the Oklahoma City Thunder, wants to prove that he can run with the superstars on his team. And if this freestyle is any indication, CyHi could do just that.
