Today marks the fourteen year anniversary of Jay-Z's third album, Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life, and at this week's NBA 2K13 event in New York at the 40/40 Club, Jigga reminisced about the album, and specifically how he linked up with Swizz Beatz.

In the interview, he talks about how he initially was looking to link with Dame Grease, who had been working on the DMX album. But instead, Dee from Ruff Ryders set him up with Swizz, who is Dee's nephew. Jay says, ”I’m like, ‘Nah don’t try and play me with the nephew.’ He came in, he played those songs. We went from my office to the studio, we made four records. It was 'Money, Cash, Hoes,' 'Coming Of Age 2'...From there, the body of the album was in place.”
