Veteran hip-hop producer Afrika Bambaataa has announced plans to commemorate he and his contemporaries’ work with a new museum. Bambaataa is reportedly looking to construct a National Museum of Hip-Hop in New York City. The museum would hypothetically take over the Bronx’s Kingsbridge Armory.

There are, however, several proposed projects competing for the space, so Bambaataa’s success depends on his ability to raise funds. The New York City Economic Development Corporation intends to decide the building’s future before the end of the year.
