Making it rain.

Check the videos below for a taste of the Seattle stop on the uncapped tour, presented by vitaminwater in partnership with The Fader.  This tour is about unexpected pairings making for one-of-a-kind double bills, and Seattle was treated to the yin and yang of rapper 2 Chainz and indie rock band Passion Pit. After killer shows in LA and Chicago, we knew to expect an amazing night, and these two performers did not disappoint.

2 Chainz was all about playing for this crowd, especially those fans that might not necessarily have come to hear just him. The Seattle audience had no problem showing love to the Kanye protégé during his set, throwing their hands up and bouncing to the beat. The ladies in particular were feeling 2 Chainz, and were jostling against security throughout the performance—one girl even asked our correspondent if she could help her get on stage to twerk a little bit.

Passion Pit, fans of 2 Chainz since back in the day, were happy to be sharing the bill, and brought their high-energy, synth-heavy sound to a very grateful audience that wound up passing around a few crowd surfers. The venue, Emerald City Trapeze Arts, is used to those kind of hijinx—by day, it’s an actual trapeze school.

Both artists agreed that the current generation of music fans, raised with the internet and a massive array of musical influences, do not pledge allegiance to any one genre. Music is music, and getting down is getting down.

We’ll keep you up to date on all uncapped tour shows, including Portland, Austin, Detroit, and New York City. Click here for more exclusive video, and to learn about upcoming performances in the series.
