Earlier this year, Brooklyn crew Phony Ppl dropped their album Phonyland, a project that we described as having "a fresh, organic quality unlike anything else out." And now, after getting public co-signs on Twitter from The Roots and Mike Shinoda about their buzzing summer anthem "Told You So," they release nothinG Special, an EP that is made up of songs that tell the story of a New York summer, and is filled with "chunky rhythms, eccentric pop melodies, and visionary blending of live instrumentation." It also has a feature appearance from fellow BK artist Theophilus London. Back cover and download link below. Also, don't miss Phony Ppl headlining SOB's next Tuesday, July 24. Tickets available here.
