Willis Earl Beal: "Recording music is, unfortunately—you know, I love it because it's my private thing. It's a weird thing because I have to promote it and I have to tell people to buy it. The reason why they should buy it is because of what it represents. It represents this idea that anybody can create art, that anybody can create music if they feel it and it's sincere. You should probably buy it on that premise. Also, if you happen to like music, that's cool too.

"The live show is totally more dynamic than a recording. The live show is a larger representation of how I envisioned it or how I heard it. My voice sounds better and I become a singer. I just recommend if you want to be a fan of me, just cop the record, whatever, don't judge it, look at the live performances and wait for the new thing to come out."
