Today is December 1, which means that in a few short weeks 2011 will be over. Whenever the year comes to a close, we start looking back over the past 12 months and reflecting on the year's highs and lows. And of course, we inevitably get into debates about what was the Album of the Year. 

This year, the rap conversation has been dominated by Drake's Take Care and Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne (Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV was a commercial juggernaut, but it wasn't nearly as well received critically). Although there were many great records this year, the talk always boiled down to Drizzy vs Yeezy and Hov. Both were highly anticipated and they did not disappoint. This one is an epic showdown, pitting superstar against superstar, innovator against innovator, the past and the future of the genre meeting symmetrically in the present.

As with all artistic disputes, beauty is in the eye—or ear—of the beholder. But in our quest to determine which album was actually better, we put the question to a number of the Internet's top tastemakers to see what they had to say. Watch who takes it...
