Justin Vernon, the man behind Bon Iver, stopped by Toronto's Glenn Gould Studio to speak with Q. Following his Grammy nomination and the comments that he made after, Justin said that he stands by his slightly harsh words about the awards show. He explains that growing up, music was always an expression and an art form and that he doesn't always agree with the industry's approach.

While on the topic of awards shows, the controversy surrounding Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at MTV's Video Music Awards was brought up. Justin didn't hesitate to defend his friend Kanye. Here's what he said, at around 14:50 into the interview:

"The thing that nobody ever talked about when the whole debacle went down is that he was right. The Beyonce video was the best video of the decade."
