Just last week we were partying while DJ Mehdi spun at the Fool's Gold Party, and today we are sad to share the news that Mehdi Favéris-Essadi, known by fans simply as DJ Mehdi, has passed away. The French producer, who was part of the Ed Banger crew, worked with artists like MC Solarr, 113, Daft Punk, and Chromeo, and made a lasting contribution to the electro and hip-hop scenes. He was 34 years old.
The cause of death was initially reported as "an accident," and some sources claim that the accident involved the collapse of a mezzanine during a party, but this has not been confirmed.
