Lyric: THE ENTIRE SECOND VERSE
Complex says: In 1990, LL was going through a rough patch in his career. Don't call it a comeback, but he was totally due for a comeback. He came out swinging on just about every song on Mama Said Knock You Out, but none like "To Da Break of Dawn"—a vicious dis track where he dismantled Kool Moe Dee on verse one, Hammer on verse two, and Ice-T on verse three. LL probably felt slighted after Hammer said he was better than LL on 1988's "Let's Get It Started" (Hammer's "Turn This Mutha Out" also had subliminal shots that could have been about LL).
