Locked up for: Probation violation
Complex says: Pimp's legal bills must have stacked up because he choose to release his first solo album once he was in prison. The album was really just a collection of freestyles that were probably better suited for mixtapes, but Pimp's incarceration actually had a number of positive effects on UGK. For one, it started the "Free Pimp C" movement which only helped to raise UGK's profile. It also forced Bun B to pursue a solo career himself. Once Pimp did get out, UGK dropped Underground Kingz—which became their first album to debut at No. 1. When Pimp passed away a few years later (R.I.P.), Bun was ready to hold it down just like he did when Pimp was locked up.
