#3. Clipse - We Got It For Cheap Series
Released: 2004-2008
Best Installment: We Got It 4 Cheap, Volume 2
Complex Says: When label drama prevented the Thornton Brothers from following up their 2002 platinum debut Lord Willin', they didn't just sit and bitch about "those crackers at Jive." Instead, they formed The Re-Up Gang (with Ab-Liva & Sandman), hooked up with Clinton Sparks, and started the We Got It For Cheap series. The entire series was pretty dope, but Volume Two was on another level. It had some of the best beat selection we've ever heard on any mixtape, and Pusha and Malice destroyed their verses, helping the trilogy serve as the blueprint to Clipse's 2006 classic Hell Hath No Fury.
