After their borderline iconic debut, MGMT is set to release its follow-up, Congratulations, on April 13. The album is streaming for free on the band's website and so far the buzz is about their sharp departure from the synth-heavy sound of anthems like "Time To Pretend" and "Kids." Radiohead found success when they switched up their style without warning on Kid A, and Kanye did the same with 808s, but the verdict is still out on the new MGMT material. We're a little thrown off by "Flash Delirium" and its corresponding video, but that's obviously the purpose. We just hope the new direction isn't too contrived.
