You know those really disgusting, perverted jokes that if you get, you know you're a bad person? Well that's what the legendarily offensive metal/punk/comedy group GWAR is like. And as much as we hate to admit it, we get the joke.

Now in their 25th year (with at least as many lineup changes), GWAR drops their 11th full-length studio album Lust In Space tomorrow, and while their shtick was old about 15 minutes after they came up with it, it's still kinda fascinating (even if it's just for 15 minutes): outlandish costumes, simulated sex, beheadings, and coprophilia, along with tons and tons of fake blood, semen, and feces onstage. To celebrate the release of Lust In Space (which, truth be told, we prolly ain't gonna listen to), we present the 5 Most Outrageous Moments in GWAR's History...

1990: BANNED IN NORTH CAROLINA
Part of GWAR's famed live show includes lead singer Oderus Urungus's Cuddlefish of Cthulhu, a two-and-a-half-foot long rubber phallus that Oderus uses to mimic various sex acts. Alas, GWAR got banned from the Tar Heel State for a year when their September show in Charlotte was raided by police and Urungus was charged with disseminating obscenity by depicting "anal intercourse, masturbation, and excretory functions." The people of North Carolina filled the lewd sex act void in their state two months later when they elected Jesse Helms to a fourth term in the U.S. Senate; Helms would go on to buttfuck the state for another 12 years.

2006: "SCHOOL'S OUT"
Somebody let their underage daughter participate in this video. Also to blame for the spate of teenage ass-hair burnings in '06 when kiddies attempted to mimic the Bunsen burner fart-lighting scene.
