A shooting outside a Wichita, Kansas club left one person dead and seven wounded early Tuesday morning.
The suspect, who opened fired just after 12:30 a.m., had been kicked out of the Enigma Club & Lounge, NBC News reports. According to Wichita Police Department Capt. Wendell Nicholson, the man was removed over an “unknown disturbance.” He reportedly came back and shot other club patrons on the sidewalk outside the establishment.
The person who was fatally shot was a 30-year-old man, though his identity has not yet been released by authorities. Two of the remaining seven victims sustained life-threatening injuries, three endured “serious injuries,” and two had minor injuries, with a total of five victims taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police are still searching for the suspect who they describe as a man in his 20s and who stands at about 5’9”. Authorities say he fled in a vehicle, and are still working on getting a description of it.
