Protesters have hit the streets in multiple cities as calls continue for charges to be brought against the officers involved in the fatal arrest of George Floyd.
A second evening of protests in Minneapolis, where Floyd's fatal arrest at the hands of Minneapolis Police Department officers, saw the use of tear gas by police and tense clashes between citizens and police.
On Tuesday night, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz shared a message stating "the world is watching" the state now.
"We need to answer by saying and demonstrating peacefully that we will make change together," Gov. Walz said. "That's why I'm pushing for a full, fair, and expeditious investigation that will bring us closer to justice. We must continue to examine and address the systemic inequities and discrimination that led to this incident and far too many that have come before."
PerCNN, police said early Thursday that a man had been fatally shot near the sight of one protest. A person has been arrested and the incident is under investigation.
Protests were also documented in Los Angeles and Memphis, the latter of which saw the arrest of at least two people.

The officer who held his knee to George Floyd's neck during the fatal arrest has been identified as Derek Chauvin. The other three officers have been identified as Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng.
Many are calling for charges, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who asked during a press conference on Wednesday "Why is the man who killed George Floyd not in jail?"
