Grimes and Chelsea Manning, whose coupling became headline news just four months ago, have reportedly brought their relationship to an end.

In fact, if Page Six’s sources are to be believed, the two had actually “been breaking up for a while,” though additional alleged details were not included in Wednesday’s piece. As previously reported, the two were said to have started seeing each other following a second split between Grimes and Elon Musk, with whom the musician has two children.

In March, the same publication reported that Manning —an activist and military whistleblower—had kept her space in Brooklyn while also living with Grimes in the Austin area. The news came amid similarly widespread chatter over the Vanity Fair-published reveal of Grimes having welcomed a second child with aforementioned SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

Shortly after that piece started making the rounds, Grimes took to Twitter to clarify that she and Musk had again parted ways. Musk, she said at the time, remained her “best friend” and “the love of my life.”

Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha, but he’s my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well. Sique - peace out

Meanwhile, Manning’s memoir README.txt is slated to be released this October. The book will see Manning reflecting on her fight for accountability from the U.S. government, as well as her work in support of defending and protecting trans rights. In a recent interview with Decrypt, Manning spoke on what she explained as the present-day importance of the privacy startup Nym, including in relation to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
