Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top expert on infectious disease and the country's leading voice of reason regarding COVID-19, revealed on Sunday that he has tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

"There are a couple of reasons," Dr. Fauci said, perCNN, while pointing out into the press gallery. "One of them is part of the, in fact the major reason to wear a face mask is to protect you from infecting you. I had my test yesterday and it's negative."

Also this weekend, Dr. Fauci spoke with CBS about the status of the U.S.'s handling of COVID-19, warning that the coming week boasts the potential to for another uptick in cases. Asked specifically if he felt that the outbreak was "under control" here in the States, Dr. Fauci disagreed.

"I will not say we have it under control," Margaret, he told CBS' Margaret Brennan. "That would be a false statement. We are struggling to get it under control, and that's the issue that's at hand right now." Dr. Fauci, however, also expects a flattening of the curve if containment efforts are followed:
