Video Shows Reporter Get Hit by Car and Continue Her Segment: ‘That’s Live TV for You, It’s All Good’

A West Virginia reporter was struck by a vehicle during a live broadcast. She got back up, fixed the camera, and kept reporting about the weather conditions.

Bad roads and harsh weather conditions caused a vehicle to collide with a West Virginia reporter while she was on camera.

Tori Yorgey was in Dunbar, West Virginia, reporting about a water main break for NBC affiliate WSAZ from the side of the road. Before she was really able to get into the topic, she was hit by a car on live TV.

“Oh my god! I just got hit by a car, but I’m OK,” she quickly told anchor Tim Irr, while she was out of frame. Though she was on the ground, she was still speaking to the camera, telling viewers and the anchor they shouldn’t worry.

“You know, that’s live TV for you, it’s all good,” she added as she stood up.

Yorgey was alone on the wet and icy roadside. Once she had righted herself, she moved the camera. “I actually got hit by a car in college just like that,” she said. “I am so glad I’m OK.”

The woman who struck her also apologized. “That woman was so nice,” Yorgey said. “She didn’t mean to. It was an accident. I know it was.”

The reporter continued giving Irr an update on the water main break and kept her cool despite the incident. When the moment went viral on Twitter, Irr was asked why he seemed largely unconcerned during the broadcast.

“I couldn’t see what happened. Only audio. Then, I wasn’t truly convinced she was OK,” he tweeted.

On the contrary. I couldn’t see what happened. Only audio. Then, I wasn’t truly convinced she was ok.

According to TMZ, she got checked out at the hospital and is doing well. In the clip, she mentions that this is her last week at the job, with the outlet reporting that she’s moving to Pittsburgh.
