Elon Musk and Grimes have split up.

The tech mogul told Page Six there is no bad blood between him and the singer, and they are still co-parenting their 1-year-old son X Æ A-Xii Musk.

“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms,” Musk said.

He explained that his constant traveling has kept them apart. “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in L.A. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”

Grimes and Musk began dating in 2018 and welcomed their son in May 2020. They attended the 2021 Met Gala together, though Grimes walked the red carpet alone, with Musk joining her inside the event. She spoke to Vogue there about how her life has changed after having a child.

“I think having a baby was a big kind of like rebirth for me, like artistically,” she said.

Musk shares five sons with his ex-wife, author Justine Wilson: 17-year-old twins Griffin and Xavier and 15-year-old triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai. The former couple divorced in 2008. He was also married to Westworld actress Talulah Riley twice—from 2010 to 2012, and then again from 2013-16. Before dating Grimes, Musk dated Amber Heard from 2017-18, after her divorce from Johnny Depp was finalized.
