After promoting the new season of Veep on Saturday Night Live last week with some rather political sketches, Julia Louis-Dreyfus appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. A staunch Democrat, Louis-Dreyfus talked about a routine visit to The White House at the State Dinner, when she sat next to Vice President Joe Biden. Colbert remarked, "Everybody loves Joe!" because he's earned a reputation for being a sweet guy who enjoys an ice cream cone just like any of us, but he also has a kick ass Instagram.

Louis-Dreyfus said of Biden, "I think he's one of the most wonderful men I have ever met," then she paused. "He likes to talk a lot," she smiled. "It was pretty cool because this place was packed with amazing people, not just from politics but entertainment," she continued, only to be cut off by Colbert who said, "I think J.J. Abrams was sitting at your table, right?" Louis-Dreyfus clarified and said, "I think that was your table, right?" And Colbert bragged, "Yeah, 'cause I was sitting with the First lady, so."

"Well I had the experience of being a very good audience to Vice President Biden, he was telling me one fabulous story after the other," she said. However, when she wanted to get up to go mingle, she couldn't because she didn't want to have to interrupt the Vice President of all people.
