He also allegedly made racist comments about Nigerians living in huts.

Although he's in Mar-a-Lago golfing, President Trump is trending again thanks to a New York Times report published Saturday highlighting an Oval Office briefing that took place in June. Trump reportedly made a series of anti-immigration remarks in exchanges with domestic policy adviser Stephen Miller and several aides after he was given a document listing immigration figures from various countries.

“More than 2,500 were from Afghanistan, a terrorist haven, the president complained,” the Times report read. “Haiti had sent 15,000 people. They ‘all have AIDS,’ [Trump] grumbled, according to one person who attended the meeting and another person who was briefed about it by a different person who was there.”

The report also included an anecdote about Trump allegedly making similarly racist remarks about Nigeria.

“Forty thousand had come from Nigeria, Mr. Trump added,” the report continued. “Once they had seen the United States, they would never ‘go back to their huts’ in Africa, recalled the two officials, who asked for anonymity to discuss a sensitive conversation in the Oval Office.”

The statements attributed to President Trump are tonally consistent with the 2015 remarks about Mexican immigrants and his Muslim travel ban.

Trump has yet to respond to the report, but Twitter users had plenty to offer. The phrase “AIDS” briefly began trending once the Times report was released.

Remember when Justine Sacco, the PR Director at IAC, tweeted out a joke about getting AIDS in South Africa right before her flight took off and she was literally fired before it landed?
When the President of the United States says that all Haitians have AIDS and all Nigerians live in huts, we lose our self-respect as a nation and our dignity. How long will the Republican Congress allow this to go on?
people obsess over "dogwhistles" because it's more comfortable than confronting what's in front of them, but "Haitians all have AIDS," "Nigerians live in huts," and "Mexicans are rapists" are all very direct expressions of an extremely racist worldview
donald trump:
haitians "have AIDS"
nigerians live in "huts"
nazis are "very fine people"
Trump’s an ignorant, lazy, racist buffoon caricature validating the ignorant, lazy racism of gangs of buffoon caricatures everywhere? Oh. Merry Christmas. Pass the gravy.
Dear Media:
People who weren't bothered by
-racist birtherism
-mocking the handicapped
-insulting POWs
-insulting Gold Star families
-sexual assault
-education fraud
-defending Nazis & KKK
-over 1k lies since inauguration
will not be outraged that he thinks all Haitians have AIDS

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has vehemently denied the report.

“General Kelly, General McMaster, Secretary Tillerson, Secretary Nielsen and all other senior staff actually in the meeting deny these outrageous claims,” she said in a statement published by the Times. “It’s both sad and telling The New York Times would print the lies of their anonymous ‘sources’ anyway.”
