You’d think people would be used to wearing masks in stores by now, but not this alleged thief in the Quebec City area who was caught on camera during a store robbery with his face on full display before realizing his mistake and putting a mask on.
Benjamin Aubert from Metro Quebec posted the sequence on Twitter.
According to a TVA Nouvelles report, surveillance cameras caught the entire string of events, showing the man approaching the counter maskless and then putting it on when he realized he’d forgotten to do so prior to entering the store.
After putting on the mask, the man slides a piece of paper over to the clerk before speaking to him. The video cuts out shortly after but does not indicate that any form of violence occurred.
Needless to say, Quebec media is having fun with the bumbling possible thief, with even one calling him a “criminal genius.”
The individual is assumed to be between the ages of 30 and 40 years old and speaks French. He was dressed in a gray and black coat with a hood and wore black pants. He also sports short hair with a goatee.
People in the area with any information regarding the suspect are asked to call 911.
