Here's a dizzying video that likely needs no introduction, but for the sake of a bit of context and background here you go anyway. A YouTuber that goes by the name Gursk3 recently tried hang gliding in Switzerland, and what followed was a horrifying experience that should reaffirm the rationality of your fear of heights (that is, if you're afraid of heights).
You see, it was Gursk3's first time hang gliding, and he was supposed to be safely harnessed to the glider while an allegedly skilled pilot took him on a leisurely drift through the sky. Instead Gursk3's fucking harness wasn't connected, which is something the duo noticed at a point you may accurately describe as "a little late." So instead Gursk3 was forced to hold onto his guide for a harrowing two minutes and 14 seconds as the man in charge found a safe(ish) place to land. Because of Gursk3's predicament, the pilot was forced to hold onto him with one hand while steering the hang glider with the other. Frankly that looks easier than what Gursk3 had to do.
As you may have guessed from the tone here, Gursk3 did not die, and actually came off relatively unscathed (and by that we mean he tore his left bicep, and had to have surgery and a titanium plate inserted after fracturing his wrist.) That's not ideal, but it's better than several other alternatives. He also announced he intends to try this again, saying "I will go hang gliding again as I did not get to enjoy my first flight."
That may seem like the man has a death wish, but we feel like odds are good that this won't happen twice.
