Brawl at Chicago's O'Hare Airport Captured on Video, Leads to Two Arrests

A video of a brawl at Chicago's O'Hare Airport made the rounds on Twitter, showing about a dozen people fighting near a luggage carousel.

Chicago’s O’Hare Airport was the scene of a fight on Monday night.

TMZ reports that the altercation began between a dozen travelers, both men and women. A clip of the incident shows people physically fighting near a baggage claim belt in Terminal 3, with some throwing punches and others on the ground. It looks like there were some attempts to stop the brawl, but it continued, with some participants even duking it out on a luggage carousel. The video was first posted to Twitter.

After several more attempts by onlookers to break up the fight, the police finally arrived on the scene to end it for good before anyone was critically injured.

At first, it’s unclear why the group was fighting. Police later shared that they arrested two suspects because they started the free-for-all when they assaulted a woman in an argument. The two people were hit with battery charges.

Fighting at the airport isn’t a complete rarity. In late April, a woman attacked three TSA agents at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport after they confiscated her apple juice. According to the victims, Maikah Cherae Coleman hit one TSA agent on the head and tore his shirt. She then punched another one and pulled her ponytail, before biting the third agent who attempted to stop her. The 19-year-old was arrested and charged with assault.

TSA issued a statement following the incident: “Unfortunately, this situation not only resulted in three of our TSA officers being injured, but inconvenienced approximately 450 travelers who had to be redirected to a nearby checkpoint for security screening due to the actions of this traveler.”
