Dr. Anthony Fauci has shared his thoughts on Nicki Minaj’s claim that someone’s testicles were affected by the COVID-19 vaccine.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor explained that there’s “no evidence” that COVID-19 vaccines cause a loss of fertility.

“The answer to that, Jake, is a resounding no,” Fauci said. “There’s no evidence that it happens, nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen. So the answer to your question is ‘no.’”

Nicki’s tweet in question, which read that a friend of her cousin “became impotent” and “his testicles became swollen,” was one of a few that have caused a stir on social media, as Minaj has been trading shots with pundits thoughout the day.

Fauci reiterated that misinformation regarding vaccines is spread mostly on social media.

“The only way we know to counter mis- and disinformation is to provide a lot of correct information and to essentially debunk these kinds of claims, which may be innocent on her part,” Fauci said. “I’m not blaming her for anything. But she should be thinking twice about propagating information that really has no basis except [as] a one-off anecdote. And that’s not what science is all about.”

Fauci’s comments come after Nicki’s tweet was already a topic of discussion in a press conference for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who claimed he was “not as familiar with the works of Nicki Minaj as I probably should be.” Nicki responded to Boris in a British accent of her own Tuesday, and got into a back-and-forth with Piers Morgan, who called her “ghastly” and “one of the rudest little madams I’ve ever met” for allegedly not taking photos with his kids at an event once.

“Sir I’ve never met you,” Minaj wrote in response. “I know…we all look alike. ‘Rudest little madam.’ I like it. Has a special ring to it. Thanks Pierce. Love the accent. I’d love to come chat. Scones. Tea. Clown nose & big red shoes for you. Lmk babe.”

The back-and-forths kept going, but you can look back at some of it here.
