Authorities have released disturbing footage of a shooting inside the management office of a Las Vegas apartment complex. According to NBC News, the incident took place last Thursday at the Vista Del Valle apartments near Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Surveillance footage shows 93-year-old tenant Robert Thomas coming through the front door and approaching a woman at the front desk, reportedly there to speak about water damage in his residence. Moments later, a male maintenance worker enters the frame and begins to speak with a seemingly calm Thomas; then we see the nonagenarian reach into his coat pocket and pull out a handgun. The woman at the desk stands up to leave, while the male employee sits down and begins to talk to Thomas.

We then see the tenant open fire, shooting the man twice in the leg.

According to ABC 7, the woman who was seen at the beginning of the clip immediately called the police after she left the scene. "The female caller stated that an elderly male, later identified as Robert Thomas, was armed with a firearm inside the management office and was making verbal threats," a Las Vegas police spokesperson said.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the complex and fired one shot through the glass office door. Though the bullet did not strike Thomas, officers were able to apprehend the suspect and place him in handcuffs.

"They heard the shot and the key was the officer told this partner they had to make entry due to the possibility of any more people being injured or killed while inside that apartment complex office, not knowing what they had," Assistant Sheriff Brett Zimmerman told NBC News.

The suspect was arrested on charges of kidnapping, discharge of a firearm indoors, burglary, carrying a concealed weapon, and suspicion of attempted murder. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.
