His five-star status didn't go away at the end of this one.

A 23-year-old man, Anthony J. Clark, stole a car in front of police officers and then told them his LSD trip made him think he was in Grand Theft AutoOregon Live reports. Well, that is after they caught up with him after a 40 mile-long chase.

Clark reportedly stole a car police were towing away from an unrelated drunken driver. But it seems Clark was able to take advantage of the situation before the tow truck company came through.

Allegedly, the car chase's notable highlights included: Clark crashing into a chain-link fence, driving through spike strips, and going the wrong way on more than one occasion. (The fact that no one was hurt or that he didn't hurt himself could back him up on the Grand Theft Autoclaim.) Unfortunately for Clark, the police IRL don't go away with a time limit or by changing the car's color. After a patrol car bumped Clark's stolen one, causing him to spin around, he allegedly ran out to steal another vehicle. That's when he was arrested.

Now, Clark is accused of a slew of crimes including driving under the influence of intoxicants, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree escape, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude a police officer, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, interfering with a police officer, reckless endangering, reckless driving, offensive littering, and of course possession of a stolen motor vehicle aka grand theft auto. Maybe he can call up CJ to bail him out?
