According to Fox News, a Little Caesars employee shot and killed a man who was wearing a mask and attacked him outside the store.
Police arrived at the Little Caesars location in Holly Hill, Florida in response to numerous 911 calls regarding shots fired in the area, and quickly encountered the attacker lying on the ground with his mask and scissors. He was rushed to the hospital and died from his wounds.
Heriberto Feliciano, 28, told police he was preparing to lock up when a masked man attacked him. The store’s surveillance footage shows the employee walking outside and a man attacking him with a wooden post. According to Feliciano, the attacker kept hitting him in the face and shoulder until the post broke, and then attempted to stab him with scissors.
“Even though [Feliciano was] being attacked he’s able to pull out a concealed firearm he has and fires multiple rounds at the suspect,” said Holly Hill Police Chief Stephen Aldrich. Feliciano said he shot four or five rounds off at close range, placed his gun on the trunk of his car, then called 911 to report the shooting. Aldrich said he found the entire situation “unusual.”
“We’re obviously aggressively pursuing this to find out where this individual came from and why this attack occurred,” he said.
Those who live nearby, meanwhile, don’t seem to have an issue with Feliciano’s decision-making that night. “I’m sorry the guy got killed, but he got what he deserved,” said Carlton Atkins, who lives close to that particular Little Caesars.
