Two weeks ago, Kanye West tweeted a photo of González and captioned it, "My hero Emma Gonzalez." He also tweeted a photo of himself with a shaved head much like González's and captioned it, "Inspired by Emma."

Likely in response to Kanye's tweet, González quickly tweeted a photo of here "hero James Shaw Jr."

On April 22, Shaw, who was unarmed, took down a gunman, a move that ceased gunfire and knocked the gun out of its shooter's hands. Since then, he has helped raise more than $230,000 for the victims of the shooting and their families.

González has been one of the most active and vocal survivors of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The meeting of the hero and the survivors seems like a match made in heaven.
