Pulling a prank on a homeless person could spell two years of jail time for a YouTuber, according to the Independent. Barcelona-based vlogger Kanghua Ren, who goes by ReSet and has 1.2 million subscribers, filmed himself replacing the filling in Oreo cookies with toothpaste and offering the filling-swapped cookies to people he passed on the street, including homeless man 52-year-old Gheorge L.
"Maybe I’ve gone a bit far, but look at the positive side: This will help him clean his teeth. I think he hasn’t cleaned them since he became poor," Ren says to himself after walking away. The man reportedly vomited within minutes of eating the cookie and feared for his life. He also told local news outlet El Pais that he had “never been treated so poorly while living on the street.” Ren also allegedly offered the man €300 to stay silent. The video has since been deleted.
Ren now faces a charge of a crime against moral integrity. In addition to the proposed two-year prison sentence, prosecutors also recommended a €30,000 ($37,000) penalty. This isn't the first time the vlogger had offered up treats that weren't as they seemed; prosecutors said the YouTuber made sandwiches with cat excrement and gave them to children and elderly people. Those videos seem to have been deleted as well.
Though Ren has mainly been posting Fortnite videos as of late, he also regularly shares extreme challenge and prank videos on his channel.
