Following the shooting that claimed 17 lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, school officials implemented increased security measures to prevent another attack. Since returning from spring break, students are now required to carry clear plastic backpacks, and the policy isn’t going over too well with students.

One of them, Laura Hogg, used the measure to rip the NRA in a pretty poignant tweet.

“My new backpack is almost as transparent as the NRA’s agenda. I feel sooo safe now,” she tweeted. “As much as I appreciate the effort we as a country need to focus on the real issue instead of turning our schools into prisons,” she went on.

Indeed, forcing students to carry clear backpacks seems like a paltry substitution for sane gun laws. Way to blame the victim, guys.

Understandably, many Twitter users came to Hogg’s defense in the face of conservative gun-loving trolls.
