Robots are the future. The world predicted by countless sci-fi films and television shows is slowly but surely creeping into reality. There are even robot citizens now. But no one thought one of the latest advancements in robotics would be robot strippers. Well, for better or worse (definitely worse), a Las Vegas strip club had robots performing at their establishment to attract attendees from the CES 2018 conference held in Sin City.
Sapphire Las Vegas is the club responsible for bringing robot strippers to the masses. The two robots brought over from the UK even have "clever" names too: #R2DoubleD and #TripleCPU. "Come watch sparks fly as the robo-twins gyrate on the pole, shake their hardware and leave everyone wondering if those double D’s are real or made in ‘Silicone’ Valley," the official website for the club states.
Walker is worried that more questionable results could come out of the sex industry with this type of technology. "The dark side of the sex industry will create some really nasty, nasty stuff, and I think, 'Is it worth it?'," he tells CNBC. "I've been dragged into this side of things unintentionally, but I'm not complaining. It does pay the bills. I am a robot pimp in that way."
Anyone who was hoping to head out to Vegas to make it rain on some robots will have to find another way; the unique performances concluded on Jan. 13. If you were truly curious about this incredibly ridiculous spectacle, you can check out the preview above.
