A woman woke up to a horrifying reality while on a Spirit Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Detroit. Detroit News is reporting that during the flight, a 22-year-old woman woke up from her nap in the window seat to find her shirt and pants were open.
What's worse? The man, identified as Prabhu Ramamoorthy, had his hands down her pants when she awoke. The criminal complaint said that Ramamoorthy was shoving his fingers inside the woman's vagina and was "vigorously moving them." All of this went down while Ramamoorthy's wife was sitting in the seat next to him.
Ramamoorthy, who was taken into custody at the Wayne County Airport Authority, said he was asleep and did nothing to the woman while, in another interview, said he may have undone her shirt, cupped her breasts, and tried (but failed) to penetrate her with his fingers.
Ramamoorthy, who is a native of India, was hit with charges of aggravated sexual abuse, a five-year felony. He was detained without bond, and is considered a flight risk.
His defense lawyer, Richard O'Neill, told Detroit News that he is having "a hard time with some of these allegations but that’s what a trial is for. There have been no allegations from anywhere that his behavior has ever been inappropriate prior to this incident."
