You can now set up your photos and captions days or weeks in advance with third-party apps.

Instead of listening to our constant pleas to put the photo-sharing app back in chronological order, Instagram has added a whole new feature that will allow you to schedule your posts in advance. While it's not built directly into the app itself, it now allows you to connect to third-party applications like HootSuite and Sprout Social to set photos and captions for a later posting date and time, according to the Verge. The feature does not yet have the ability to schedule video, but businesses will no doubt benefit from being able to plan out their social media content days, weeks or even months in advance.

According to the company's business blog, they're starting off small and offering it to a handful of select users before a full rollout early next year. Another useful update will let users with Instagram business accounts see other business profiles and also see content they've been tagged in.

All of this is, of course, good news and big business for those who rely on the platform for engagement, traffic and ultimately revenue, and will save them plenty of time on the social media planning side of things.

Still no word on fixing your timeline, though.
