The insanely popular quiz app HQ Trivia is getting ready to head over to Android beginning on January 1, 2018, a representative for the game show announced this week. “We’re in limited beta as of Christmas Day and are working quickly on patches, so we can continue to roll it out to more testers throughout the week. Our goal is to make it available to all by Jan. 1,” the game show tweeted on Tuesday.
HQ Trivia was originally scheduled to be released on Christmas Day, but fans can pre-register to download the app.
Canadians, however, get special access to the Android version a bit early. According to AndroidCentral, America’s neighbors to the north can download a limited open beta version of the game in the Canadian Google Play Store. Must be nice, eh?
Haven’t heard of the trivia game yet? HQ Trivia is a live trivia game show that can be played directly on your phone. An actual human, who hosts the show that airs at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET, asks viewers trivia questions for the chance to win cash prizes up to about $2000.
The app grows every day. On Christmas, HQ trivia hit a milestone: more than 730,000 players logged on to try and win. “With HQ Trivia, we saw an opportunity to create a new form of mobile entertainment — one that blends old and new concepts to engage audiences in a unique and interactive way, so we set out to create a game that we’d want to play ourselves,” a HQ Trivia representative toldForbes.
