Mike Pence, who's still yet to convince me he's not a large quantity of undercooked mashed potatoes drizzled in cold gravy and wrapped in a suit, only cares about two things: straight white men, and calling his wife "mother."
As part of maintaining these two tenets of Pence-ism, the former Indiana governor has repeatedly launched or supported attacks on women's rights and the LGBTQ community. In Jane Mayer's new piece for the New Yorker on the dangers of Pence inheriting the POTUS position, Trump is quoted as "joking" that Pence wants to hang LGBTQ Americans.
The comment was made during a discussion with a "legal scholar" about Pence's apparent obsession with overturning the abortion case Roe v. Wade, during which the topic shifted to gay rights. "Don't ask that guy," Trump reportedly said, pointing to Pence. "He wants to hang them all!" Other excrement kicking about in Pence's head includes preposterously dumb ideas on evolution, public schools, the (shitty) national anthem, and basic human decency.
Thankfully, Pence's message of bigotry hasn't gone entirely unchecked. Back in January, for example, LGBTQ activist group WERK for Peace protested outside Pence's D.C.-area house with a self-described Queer Dance Party. "The homo/transphobic Mike Pence has graciously invited us to shake our booties and bodies in front of/around his house in Chevy Chase," the group said at the time. "We plan on leaving behind [biodegradable] glitter and rainbow paraphernalia that he can NEVER forget."
Sounds like another dance party is in order.
