As Makonnen has been telling us for years, the key to a quality life is to simply drink more water. You should especially keep this mantra in mind when consuming preposterous amounts of alcohol, unless you're a full-blown masochist and just love the thought of waking up with a throbbing skull.

The new Hydrate Now app, now available for iOS devices, aims to help you avoid excruciating hangovers by generously annoying you with hydration reminders. App creator and presumed water enthusiast Jacob Catalano spoke with Cosmopolitan about his creation Monday, just in time to inspire a few readers to have an easier Tuesday morning. Catalano, noting the existence of multiple hydration apps, said he had a vision to design one that is solely intended for hangover prevention.

"So I figured the best way to do that would be by sending an almost annoying amount of provocative push notifications that remind you to drink water," Catalano said. Considering the fact that there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to achieving mid-drunkenness hydration, both the amount of water and the notifications' frequency are set up by you.

Thankfully, the app's design is extremely drunk-friendly:

And don't worry about notifications continuing beyond the point of active inebriation. Once you finally decided to call it a night, just let the app know and it will immediately stop bothering you:

The Hydrate Now app is currently available for the very friendly price of $0.00.
