A high school teacher in Arkansas was arrested this week after allegedly having relationships of a sexual nature with multiple students. Marked Tree High School teacher Jessie Goline was arrested Wednesday for sexual assault following a months-long investigation by Arkansas State Police, WREG reported Thursday. Goline, 25, had been placed on leave in May.

State police's investigation kicked off after "at least" one teen boy came forward with allegations of a "sexual liaison" with Goline. Most parents told reporters that other students were allegedly involved, though some theorized that Goline—who was still absent from her teaching position as of last month—was "the victim of blackmail."

According to a separate report from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Goline was an art teacher and has been accused of "inappropriate" relationships with a total of four students. Of those students, all were from the Market Tree district except for one. Two of those students allegedly had sex with Goline at her apartment. Investigators said that one student claimed Goline texted him a photo of her wearing a thong.

Though four students are alleged to have had relationships with Goline between January and April of last year, only one was under the age of 18. Goline has reportedly admitted to the sexual relationships. The Democrat-Gazette cited an affidavit in which Goline said one student turned out to be "way younger" than he originally told her.

Following her arrest, Goline was released from the Craighead County jail Wednesday afternoon. Goline currently faces a single count of first-degree sexual assault.
