McDonald’s Delivery is Now Available in Canada

You can now order McDonald's via an UberEats account.

In some potentially dangerous news for those of us trying to watch our weight, McDonald’s has teamed up with UberEATS to bring burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets to our front door. The partnership has now gone live in Canada, and will allow delivery in Edmonton, Ottawa, and Toronto.

Service in Calgary is expected to go live later this summer, and one can hope future expansions will continue throughout the rest of the country. As of writing, the restaurant’s entire menu is available to order on the mobile app with the exception of soft serve ice cream. Really though, how can one transport an ice cream cone and have it arrive completely intact?

In a press release sent out this week, McDonald’s executive Dave Rogers shared his excitement regarding the tasty development. “We are excited to offer McDelivery on UberEATS because it gives our guests more choices and convenience to enjoy McDonald’s whenever and wherever they want,” said Rogers. “We look forward to learning from this launch as we continue to expand McDelivery into more markets across the country.”

McDelivery offers food items for the same in-store price, but will charge the standard UberEATS delivery fee. The initiative was originally teased back in 2015, when the company outlined some strategies to increase the brand’s omnipresence.

Needless to say, the fact that we can get a Big Mac sent to our door without having to get up from the comfort of our couch is truly a thing to cherish. McDelivery isn’t the first breakthrough of the 21st century, but when writing on an empty stomach, it could very well be the most important one. To try out the service, open your UberEATS app and pray you reside near a McDonald's location.
