Sanford, Florida police arrested Bobbi Kristina Brown’s former boyfriend Nick Gordon Saturday after a woman who identified herself as Gordon’s current live-in girlfriend reported he struck her. Gordon, 26, was arrested and taken into custody in what became the latest in a series of legal troubles.

In September 2016, a judge ruled Gordon was legally liable for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown after she was found unconscious in a bathtub in the Atlanta home Brown and Gordon shared on January 31, 2015. She went into a coma and died July 26, 2015. An autopsy determined drug intoxication and water immersion as the causes of Brown’s pneumonia and the brain damage that ultimately led to her death. Bobbi Kristina Brown was the only child of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston.

After Gordon failed to appear at the two hearings for a civil lawsuit filed against him by the state of Georgia on behalf of Brown, a judge ordered him to pay $36 million to Brown’s estate.

Nick Gordon is currently being held at no bail and he faces charges of both domestic battery and false imprisonment.

Gordon rose to some measure of fame when he initially appeared on the reality series, The Houstons: On Our Own. Houston reportedly took Gordon in at the age of 12, and he lived with the family until her death in 2012. After speculation about the nature of Gordon’s relationship with Bobbi Kristina Brown in 2015, a lawyer for Bobby Brown released an official statement confirming Bobbi Kristina Brown and Gordon were never legally married.
