We all go a bit crazy during long airport layovers. There are only so many duty-free shops to meander through, measly food court options to try, and those coin-operated massage chairs are somehow always occupied.

On April 20, travellers passing through Singapore’s Changi Airport were met with some unexpected entertainment. Perth’s Jason Peter Darragh went on several drunken sprees in the port city, starting at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2. At around 12.15am local time, Mr Darragh allegedly threw a man’s phone to the floor and used vulgar language towards him.

When confronted by two officers, he pushed them, swore at them and hit one in the face. Footage shows Mr Darragh taking swings at officers and pushing one to the ground. At one point, bystanders try to intervene by kicking his legs. He’s heard yelling: “Don’t fucking touch me, alright? I’ll knock your fucking head off!”

At one point during this altercation, Mr Darragh loses a shoe. He also takes a few mini dance breaks, presumably spurred on by the music playing in his headphones. He takes one last jig just before seven officers tackle him to the ground – we guess if you're going out like that, you may as well get in a final milly rock while you can.

Incredibly, at 4.50am the next day, he got drunk and caused a ruckus in front a bar in Clarke Quay. A few days later, he was found drunk and incapable of taking care of himself in a bathroom at Orchard Tower in the red light district. He ended up in Tan Tock Seng hospital, where he hurled verbal abuse at yet another police officer.

Mr Darragh is facing 11 charges: three counts of using vulgar language on police officers, two counts of using criminal force on them, two counts of causing annoyance to others while drunk in a public place, one count of assaulting a police officer, one count of using abusive words on a man, one count of committing mischief, and one count of being found drunk and incapable of taking care of himself in a public place. Pretty standard stuff, really.

Mr Darragh will appear in court on Friday.
