Twitter may only allow 140 characters to send a message, but now you can use the social media platform to stream video in 360 degrees. Twitter announced Wednesday that it has added the capability to livestream 360-degree view videos through Periscope, following the trend of livestreaming and 360-degree views that have been adopted by Facebook and other social media platforms in 2016.

Twitter wrote on the company blog Wednesday, "Starting today, you can check out live, interactive 360 videos from interesting broadcasters and explore what’s happening with them. You’ll be able to get an inside look with well-known personalities and go behind the scenes at exclusive events."

The blog further explains that 360-degree videos will be marked with a special badge, and users can see the full view by "moving your phone or swiping the screen – all while watching live. See what’s unfolding behind, above, or below the broadcaster’s view for an immersive experience."

For the time being, only select users will be able to broadcast themselves live in 360, but all Twitter and Periscope users will be able to stream the videos.
