The world of late-night comedy wasted no time in condemning Donald Trump's now-infamous comments that condone sexual assault, unearthed Friday by the Washington Post. In a tape from 2005, Trump can be heard claiming that stars "can do anything," including grabbing women "by the p****."

Stephen Colbert posted a 2-minute video to Twitter Friday night explaining that the staff had already taped Friday's show, and that his monologue that evening wouldn't include remarks about Trump's comments. So he used Twitter as a pre-monologue warm-up exclusively dedicated to the Republican nominee.

"We did not know there'd be ... the motherlode. The El Dorado of Donald Trump misogyny gold," Colbert says. “Here’s what I really found disgusting ... Trump says in the video when you’re a star they let you get away with anything, and unfortunately, that’s true. Because Donald Trump is the Republican nominee. Hopefully someday you’ll be telling the story of how he tried to f*ck America, and failed.”

Robert de Niro had some strong words for Trump, which came via a dramatic black and white video uploaded to Twitter Saturday morning by The Daily Beast's social media editor.

De Niro calls Trump "so blatantly stupid," as well as a "punk, a dog, a pig, a con, a bullshit artist, a mutt who doesn't know what he's talking about, doesn't do his homework."

Other comedians chimed in Friday, too, including Samantha Bee of Full-Frontal. Bee recorded a spoof of Trump's comments in a 30-second clip of her own, in which she claims she got into television to objectify men and grope their genitals.

Her staff then tweeted an "apology," closely modeled after the Trump campaign's non-apology, in which she claims that leaking the off-the-record conversation was a "hack by the media that I hired to cover me."

At the New Yorker Festival on Friday evening, David Letterman noted that he's glad he isn't responsible for grilling Trump anymore.

“While it might be fun here and there to drop something in, I don’t know if I’d have the stamina for a full plate of Trumpy night in and night out.”
