After losing her home in a fire, a Seattle woman moved to Nevada for a job to raise money. But not just any job—she went to work for a brothel, and has decided to sell her virginity to the highest bidder.

Katherine Stone, a 20-year-old woman from Seattle, Washington, lost her family home to fire in 2014, according to CNN. The home wasn't insured, so the family struggled financially. She later saw an ad for a legal brothel on Facebook and began researching how much brothel workers can make. In Nevada, where prostitution is legal, there are around 20 legal brothels.

Inside Edition reports that Stone reached out to Dennis Hof, who owns multiple legal brothels in Nevada and has a reality TV show. After Hof was convinced that she was sure about her choice, Stone—with her mother's support—went to live in one of Hof's brothels.

While she was "definitely scared" at first, she's come to enjoy her new job. She told Inside Edition, "It's just a good environment; we have fun here."

According to CNN, Hof, who claims to get multiple similar offers each week, agreed to sell Stone's virginity—and he'll collect half of the profits. She's still waiting to accept an offer, but the current highest bid is over $400,000.

"It's really not just about the money," Stone told CNN. "I'm waiting for a man who I feel a connection with so that the experience can be special for both of us."

Hof explained to Inside Edition, "She’s had guys that she’s liked that didn’t have enough money and she’s had guys that had enough but she didn’t like them."

While many people have criticized Stone's choice—she says some coverage of her story has made her cry—she seems very content with her situation. Stone says that she has "the right to choose what I do with my body." She adds, "And in this troubling economy, do you blame me?"

"People say you are suppose to do it for love, but, if you think about it, I am doing it because I love my family," she told CNN.

Hof doesn't feel bad about it either. "It is her choice. I don't think it is a good idea for a girl to drink six tequilas and lose her virginity on the bathroom floor in a frat house," he told CNN. "If she wants to (sell) it, I think that's great."

In the mean time, Stone is working for the brothel, doing things like "massage parties, stuff that has been very PG-13."

But even after she loses her virginity, Stone plans to work at the brothel for the next five years. And after that? "I plan to go to law school in the future," she told CNN.
