A 38-year-old substitute teacher in Woodstock, Ga. was arrested last week and hit with two charges of sexual assault by a teacher, according to 11 Alive.
Shortly after Laura Rich started substitute teaching in January 2015, she allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old student at her home in Acworth, Ga., according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Just months later, the Ace Academy substitute teacher allegedly also had sex with an 18-year-old student at her home.
The Cherokee County School District notified police after they heard about the alleged sexual relationships, and are still "fully cooperating" with the sheriff's office's investigation, according to Patch.
Rich's last day teaching was reportedly Aug. 19. The school district says Rich "no longer is permitted to work as a substitute teacher in CCSD." As the school district's spokesperson wrote to the Journal-Constitution, "Our School District has zero tolerance for inappropriate relationships between students and any adults serving in any capacity in our schools."
Rich has been released from the Cherokee County Detention Center after posting a $22,400 bond.
