Japan Opens Naked Restaurant, Refuses to Let Fat People In

If you're 15kg over your average weight for your height, you ain't getting in.

Naked restaurants are apparently a thing now — clothes-free dining establishments have recently opened in London and Melbourne. And Tokyo is the next city to get one, with The Amrita opening next month. But don’t expect this to be a celebration of body positivity or anything. They are going to weigh customers on the way in, and not let in anyone who is 15kg over their average weight based on their height. They also are only letting in people between the ages of 18 to 60.

This is pretty harsh tbh. I’m sure there’s some people who would not want fat, old, ugly people putting them off their food. But we’re in a new era of positivity and sincerity. Can we not just embrace everyone? And surely in Tokyo they’d let in a champion sumo wrestler?
