The result of the UK’s referendum over leaving the EU has understandably caused a lot of shocked reaction, and concern over what happens next. Unsurprisingly, a protest has already been organised for this evening, against “racism, for migrant rights, [and] against fascist violence”.

The protest will start at 6pm this evening at Altab Ali park in Whitechapel, a significant hub of East London’s Asian community. It will then march to the headquarters of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp — owners of The Sun — by The Shard.

The organisers say:

The EU referendum has unleashed a torrent of racism. Migration has been attacked and scapegoated by both campaigns -- with Leave stoking up bigotry against immigrants and Remain responding by capitulating and echoing that bigotry.
