An Alabama police officer has been arrested for allegedly forcing a man to perform oral sex on him at gunpoint. Montgomery officer Deonte Lashawn Hamner was arrested and charged with first-degree sodomy, according toAL.com. Hamner, 27, is reportedly being detained at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $60,000 bond.
An arrest warrant filed last week and obtained by AL.com alleges that Hamner held the unidentified man at gunpoint and forced oral sex, with authorities estimating the assault took place June 9 between 8 and 10 p.m. local time. The officer was reportedly on duty during the alleged assault.
The victim had reportedly been stopped by the officer over an alleged noise complaint, though Montgomery police have yet to confirm whether the noise complaint actually occurred. Representatives for the Montgomery Police Department and the Montgomery County Detention Facility did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.
Hamner, who graduated from the local police academy just two years ago, is now the subject of an internal investigation. The department confirmed toKMOV that "disciplinary proceedings" against the officer have begun, with Hamner currently on administrative leave. The officer's attorney has called for a preliminary hearing on the Class A felony charge currently facing his client.
